Gori Municipal Authorities Awarded Europe Foundation for its Efforts to Develop the Youth Policy in Gori
Gory municipal authorities awarded Europe Foundation (EPF) a certificate of recognition for developing the youth policy in the municipality in 2016-2017. Within its Youth Integration Program, the Foundation has been enhancing youth civic engagement and volunteerism in Gori municipality since 2009. To do so, EPF has been following the Youth Bank (YB) methodology, an innovative way of increasing youth participation through creating groups of young people (aged 16-21) in a given community (the Youth Banks) and empowering them with training and resources to find, fund, and oversee small youth-led initiatives that address salient for local communities issues. To date, the Program members from Gori have completed 10 grant-cycles and have funded 30 youth-led initiatives.
