Knowledge and Attitudes towards the EU in Georgia (2009 – 2019): Presentation of Europe Foundation’s 2019 Survey Report

 

On September 23, Europe Foundation (EPF) presented its recent survey report entitled Knowledge and Attitudes towards the EU in Georgia. The biannual survey, which is commissioned by Europe Foundation and conducted by CRRC Georgia, presents the results of a study into the Georgian citizens’ knowledge of and attitudes towards the European Union, attempting to identify trends and to highlight changes. The recent report looks at the results of the five waves of surveys conducted in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

The survey was commissioned by Europe Foundation and conducted by CRRC Georgia with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and the Danish International Development Agency (Danida).

On October 10, Europe Foundation presented the results of its recent survey entitled Knowledge and Attitudes towards the EU in Georgia, 2009 – 2017. On November 25, 2015, Europe Foundation (EPF)  presented its survey report entitled Knowledge and Attitudes towards the EU in Georgia: Trends and Variations 2009 – 2015.

The report showcases the results of a study into the Georgian citizens’ knowledge of and attitudes towards the European Union. It looks at the results of the four waves of surveys conducted in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2015, attempting to identify trends and highlight changes in both knowledge and attitudes of the population of Georgia.

The survey was conducted with support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Netherlands to Georgia. The survey was conducted by CRRC Georgia.

Knowledge and Attitudes towards the EU in Georgia: Changes and Trends 2009 – 2013

On January 21, 2014, Europe Foundation (EPF) held a presentation of the survey report: Knowledge and Attitudes towards the EU in Georgia: Changes and Trends 2009 – 2013.

The report presents the results of a study into the Georgian citizens’ knowledge of and attitudes towards the European Union. It looks at the results of the three waves of surveys conducted in 2009, 2011, and 2-13, and attempts to identify trends and highlight changes in both knowledge and attitudes of the population of Georgia.

The current survey was commissioned by Europe Foundation and conducted by CRRC Georgia. Unlike the 2009 and 2011 surveys, the recent wave included interviews in Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, and Kakheti conducted in the minority languages of Armenian and Azerbaijani, so as to provide information about the main cleavages in priorities and attitudes between Georgia’s ethnic minority and ethnic majority population.

Knowledge and Attitudes toward the European Union in Georgia in 2011

On January 16, 2012, Europe Foundation (EPF) held a presentation of the survey report: Knowledge and Attitudes toward the European Union in Georgia.

EPF’s Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC) carried out the baseline survey to study Georgia’s knowledge and attitudes toward the EU in 2009 and on July 7-18, 2011, conducted a follow-up assessment. Based on the results from the 2009 and 2011 surveys, the report provides information on if and how things have changed over the past two years.

Georgian Public Opinion - Attitudes towards European Integration (2009)

On August 1 -10, 2009, Europe Foundation and Caucasus Research Resource Center conducted a a survey on Attitudes towards European Integration in Georgia. It was released on Friday, October 23, 2009.
